
What will I learn in the classes?
Communication:
You will learn to communicate in a second language! Via ACTFL's three modes of communication:
Interpersonal Communication: Learners interact and negotiate meaning in spoken or written conversations to share information, reactions, feelings, and opinions.
Interpretive Communication: Learners understand, interpret, and analyze what is heard, read, or viewed on a variety of topics.
Presentational Communication: Learners present information, concepts, and ideas to inform, explain, persuade, and narrate on a variety of topics using appropriate media and adapting to various audiences of listeners, readers, or viewers

Self-awareness: Know your strengths and limitations, with a well-grounded sense of confidence, optimism, and a “growth mindset.”

Social awareness: Understand the perspectives of others and empathize with them, including those from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Relationship skills: Communicate clearly, listen well, cooperate with others, resist inappropriate social pressure, negotiate conflict constructively, and seek and offer help when needed.
Responsible decision-making: Make constructive choices about personal behavior and social interactions based on ethical standards, safety, and social norms.
